IPTV on Apple TV: setup guide
Set up a verified tvOS IPTV player or use supported AirPlay, with clear checks for app availability, account formats and stream playback.
Use a tvOS app, not an iPhone assumption
An app available on iPhone is not automatically available on Apple TV. Search the Apple TV App Store and inspect the supported devices and developer. The current Smarters Pro site and GSE developer site list Apple TV support, but your installed version and regional store still need checking.
Find your Apple TV model and software version in settings. Confirm the chosen app accepts the account format supplied by XIPTV. A player subscription through Apple is separate from a service order placed with XIPTV.
Set up a native player
- Install a verified tvOS player from the App Store.
- Open the player's add-account or playlist screen.
- Select M3U or the appropriate server-login option, based on the details supplied by support.
- Enter the credentials carefully. If you use another Apple device as a remote keyboard, check for automatic spaces or substitutions.
- Allow the library to load, then test picture, audio and remote controls.
- Add an EPG source only if the account instructions supply one.
Never enter your Apple Account password into an IPTV service field. If an app asks for its own login or purchase, check that you understand the difference from your XIPTV credentials.
AirPlay is a separate option
You can also use a compatible iPhone or iPad app with AirPlay when both the app and receiving device support it. Keep the devices on the same Wi-Fi network, open the video, choose its AirPlay control and select the television. Apple's AirPlay instructions explain this route and note that some video apps do not support AirPlay.
AirPlay availability does not guarantee that every stream can be sent to your Apple TV. If the picture stays on the phone, test the app's support and permissions rather than assuming the XIPTV account is invalid. Native playback and AirPlay can have different format limitations.
Check everyday playback
Test channel changes and audio before changing advanced display settings. Where possible, compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet on a compatible Apple TV model. If only UHD content has difficulty, test a lower-resolution source and consult the network guide.
When asking for help, provide the tvOS version, player version and error text. Do not publish your playlist URL or use shared credentials found in a forum.
