XCIPTV Player: setup and compatibility guide

Set up XCIPTV Player with your IPTV account. Check Android and Fire TV compatibility, login formats and differences between branded editions.

Find the correct XCIPTV Player edition

XCIPTV Player is the name used in this guide and in the setup instructions below. OTTRUN's developer documentation covers Android TV, Android phones and tablets, and Fire TV. Branded editions can have different screens or supported connection methods. The developer documentation may also use the name OTR Player; check your installed publisher and edition before following its instructions.

Use OTTRUN's own documentation to identify the legitimate application route. Many websites reuse XCIPTV in a domain or title, which does not prove that they are the developer. Do not install an app that promises shared accounts or preloaded access.

Check the login method before entering details

The official documentation lists M3U and several server-based APIs, including Xtream-style options. That does not mean your XIPTV account has every one enabled. Ask support which method to select in your installed edition.

For a server login, keep the URL, username and password in their corresponding fields. For M3U, keep the complete playlist URL intact. A branded build may be configured for a particular provider and may not accept an arbitrary server. If no appropriate field is available, confirm the build rather than trying unrelated credentials.

Configure and test

  1. Record the exact app name, publisher and version you installed.
  2. Select the supported account method recommended by XIPTV.
  3. Enter the details carefully and check the scheme, port and spelling of the server address.
  4. Let the initial account data load without repeatedly restarting the app.
  5. Test live playback and audio, then check other content sections supplied by the account.
  6. Refresh programme information if provided and confirm the device clock is correct.

Do not assume that a successful login means every content section is included. A menu item can exist in an app even when the connected service does not supply that feature.

When playback and login behave differently

A rejected login points toward account details, the selected API or server access. A populated library with failed video can point toward a specific source, decoder, connection limit or network issue. Record which stage fails before changing the configuration.

If your edition offers alternative playback engines, change one setting at a time and retest the same source. Avoid copying an unexplained list of settings from a tutorial made for different hardware.

Fire TV and service boundaries

Confirm the exact Fire TV model and operating system before applying an Android-based installation guide. Newer Fire TV hardware does not always use Fire OS. XIPTV supplies service access; OTTRUN controls the player. Contact the appropriate party for app licensing versus subscription activation, and keep credentials out of public screenshots.
