Device Setup
IPTV on Android TV: setup guide
Set up IPTV on Android TV or Google TV, verify a TV-compatible player, enter your account details and test remote-friendly playback.
Identify Android TV or Google TV
Check the device settings for the operating system and model. A television's brand name is not enough: different product ranges can use different systems. A generic Android box can also behave differently from a certified Android TV or Google TV device, particularly around remote controls and app-store availability.
Use a current TV-compatible app from the official store or developer. TiviMate is designed for Android TV and is not optimised for phones or tablets. OTT Navigator documents support for Android, including Android TV and Google TV. Read the relevant player guide before paying for optional features.
Prepare the account details
Ask XIPTV whether your account uses an M3U playlist URL or an Xtream-style login. Do not assume both are enabled. If an EPG URL is provided separately, save it privately alongside the account instructions. It provides programme information rather than video playback.
An app installed through your Google account does not automatically know your XIPTV subscription. The app publisher and service provider handle separate accounts and payments.
Install and load your playlist
- Open the device's app store and search for the chosen player.
- Compare its publisher and store link with the developer's official site.
- Install the app and open the add-playlist or provider screen.
- Choose the matching account type and enter the supplied information.
- Wait for the library to import. Open a live channel, check audio, and try changing channels with the remote.
- Configure an EPG source only if one is supplied, then refresh the guide.
For menu-specific steps, use the TiviMate guide or OTT Navigator guide. Button labels can change between versions, but the account fields must still correspond to the format provided.
Make the television comfortable to use
Create favourites after testing the full playlist. A short favourites list is easier to navigate with a remote than thousands of entries. Check text size, guide readability and the app's remote-control shortcuts. Do not enable automatic recording or catch-up on the assumption that your service includes those capabilities.
If the picture stutters, compare a lower-resolution stream and a wired connection where supported. A faster advertised internet plan does not correct a weak signal between the router and television. Note the app version and exact error before contacting support, and keep account URLs out of screenshots.
